Colourwave Colorimeter

Colorimetry is an extremely useful technique for establishing the presence and concentration of substances that produce coloured solutions. This kit comprises all that you need to make a start in this interesting practical area of conventional and biological chemistry. The Biochrom Colourwave WPA CO7500 colorimeter is a value for money instrument that has been designed for use in schools and colleges and can be used in schools by ‘higher’ level students and those studying AS and A2 Chemistry and can be used for many practical experiments including those on the AQA science course.  It is compact, lightweight and ergonomically designed to withstand student use! This makes it ideal for use in busy teaching laboratories. It has a large easy to read display, and is simple to both set up and use, giving rapid results. Samples can be measured in either standard or semi micro 10mm pathlength cuvettes, or in 16mm diameter test tubes. The choice of absorbance or percentage transmission read out allows explanation of the fundamentals of colorimetry. The integral Kinetics mode permits the study of rates of reaction. The eight filters are held in an integral filter wheel preventing any accidental loss or damage, however they can be removed if required. With no lid needed, this robust instrument is easy to use, clean and store. There is a drain hole at the bottom of the cell compartment so that spillages do not affect the instrument. Lamp life is extended as it is only on during the measurement cycle.
